A change to Photobucket's terms of service is having disastrous consequences on numerous sites as users discover they can no longer host images for use on other sites free of charge. Users of sites such as Amazon and eBay -- as well as owners of personal sites, and social media users -- were more than a little disappointed to learn that in order to continue using third-party image hosting, they would have to upgrade to Photobucket's most expensive package.

With the Plus 500 Plan costing $399 per year, upset users have complained that Photobucket is holding them to ransom. While Photobucket issued a notice that terms and conditions were changing, the company failed to highlight the change or give enough notice to satisfy many people.

Hi Neil - when we did the last forum upgrade it included the ability to upload photos directly to our web server , so no need to use a 3rd party host like photobucket. So those photos will show up. We will have the same problem as everyone else who uses links to photobucket....our archive of old posts will be missing pictures!

If anyone has time on their hands and wants to edit their old posts to upload their picture here then let me know :D

I've always thought that the notices I keep getting from Photobucket telling me that my account had been restricted was just spam and I've always ignored them.......

Looks like a fix is available if you use Google Chrome browser

Looks like photobucket have finally bowed to the pressure. Their photo hosting plans are now starting at $20 rather then the $399.

They have temporarily reinstated all photo links.

But I think we can now post direct to this website without going via photobucket.....

You can , but unless you move all of you old photos in your historical posts and edit the links to them then the old post will still not contain the picture afters photobuckets grace period ends.

just signed in and i'm still seeing the account restricted pop-up? always was the most difficult site to use but i hope to get in and rescue all my pictures .
