This is one , you may recall, that was for sale a few months back as a complete car in pieces and is undergoing restoration now - unfortunately lots of bits missing & engine needed a rebuild, so proving to be a difficult sourcing job & costly, but coming along nicely.

Steve Thomas (Dynatech) did the engine & head work.
Brett Maile did the Weber refurbs.

Looking good Keith. Has the previous owner got any of the missing parts still?

Is it the pictures, or has it been painted in the wrong shade of white. Looks more like a ford Diamond White in some pics.

No sadly we have been unable to obtain the missing parts from the previous owner's family. No idea where they went. Costly though standing at about £15k so far.

The colour may be showing brighter but it's defo Ermine White.

Look's a nice job Keith. Not to sure about the black under wing stuff though. Any reason for it?

Schutz is not my choice either David but that's how it came when purchased, you never know what lurks .

More progress this week - new wiring loom in from Autosparks. Needed a fair bit of messing with as some of it was wrong but all done now. Wiper motor was the early Lucas type & didn't work so replace that with correct round one. Next step is put the engine and gearbox in. Steve Thomas (Dynatech) is doing this next week. :D

For some reason, the bulkhead holes for the speedo cable & washer pipe grommet have been welded up so need to re-drill them to take the cables & pipes.

Next job to fill the cavernous hole in dash where the radion aperture should be - looks like a 4 pod of supplementary instruments once resided there.

Keith, with regards to the dash cut out, isn't that how they were from the factory, my Lhd was similar and I've seen other pictures showing the crudely cut dash.
Regards
John

The white tape is typical of original build but I think Keith is referring to the 'butchered' hole below where the standard four gauges fit.

Yes that's normal but look beneath that at the radio aperture - gone.

Bit more progress to report .

After solving the mis-match on the prop flanges managed to get all the drive train in & start the engine except it has so much compression it needed one of the high torque pre-engaged starters to spin it over.

AT last it runs - sounds amazing - 146 BHP.

Next step to finish of the wiring, gauges etc. then have a general tidy up. Now running at £20k over budget for a car that was supposedly 95% complete.
