Just a quick heads-up here chaps,
GT’s and Lotus didn’t have the same halfshafts. Lotus versions were stronger, were machined full length and are identified by the thicker hub flange. That’s the part which the studs pass through, in case you were wondering! AJT’s have a name cast in the centre of the hub flange, I think it says something like Bower.

I have spent an afternoon in the workshop.
40Axles.
Imformation as follows
Quantity of each.
Axle length overall outside of flange to tip.
Flange thickness.
Imperial measurements
8x 26 5/16 .35
13x 26 1/8 .35
6x 25 9/16 .29
9x 25 7/16 .35
4x 25 7/16 .35 Lotus
The last 4 are machined the full length two come from a 63 diff that was in a car stored since 1970 in Germany likely totally original.
There is as you said casting numbers in the end of the axles.(pics sent).Slightly different wording to what you said but close.
The axle machining appears to be done by tool approximately 1/2 inch wide run down the axle in a screw type pattern.( pic supplied)
The axle has a taper as they all do.It starts slightly fatter and finish’s slightly fatter than other axles
Herewith
At 4 inches 1.0790
6. 0625
12. 0485
At inner end 0250
There are slight variations axle to axle which could be English machining or NZ measuring.
They certainly are slightly different.
Most of the axle stock came in a container from USA.
So available cars mostly Mk1 Cortina airflow.
He had chassis plates for 11 Lotus Cortina.I bought 4 cars and saw 1 more that he kept.3 GTs which came in the package but I left behind. Two front cuts from MK 2 Cortina that I left behind.A good number of what I believe are type 9 Gearbox’s left behind.
So axles are from Mk1 Cortinas Mk 2 Cortinas and whatever else went to USA maybe Capri.
Hopefully someone on here will know what else was exported to USA.
My main question now I have established my Lotus Cortina axles is what did cars did the other axles come out of.
