Brand new Air Filter For MK2

$750.....is there a prize for nearest the pin? Oh that's pounds by the way......
Also is it correct that LC and Escorts had the same one?

PM

yes this looks like a Mark 2 LC. I have one too but it would be nice to own a new mint condition. And will it go up in value?

376 pounds and 4 days to go!
I asked if it was escort or LC and didn't get an answer. Anyone car to say if they are bidding on it? Tina?

Hi All

Dont think it sold as it says bidding has ended with the starting price of £100 maybe false bids before??

Kev

It was pulled this afternoon, and had got upto £550ish. It never seems to make sense to me to accept an offer and pull the ad, unless it was a daft one!

Mark

Oh yes, you said it would be £550. It was you selling, wasn't it, and you pulled it just to win!!

I've found out some good stuff about heads, Rick, and you're going to like it. The story is a bit more confused about the breather tubes though. I'll write it up in a new topic tomorrow.

Mark

I sent a question about it questioning if it was also for an escort. Rick was never going to win because I had a trump bid! Well the one on my car is pretty good I guess. Had a dream about buying it then selling mine......
Just kidding. Its a bit odd isn't it? PM

Click on the link in Kevs first post, then click on "0 Bids" beside bid history... it shows how much people were willing to pay before it was pulled. In this case it was 611GBP.

These thing usually go mad in the last few seconds, so I guess you're right...a grand or even more. The rest of the car would have to be original NOS as well to justify that!

Hi All

Its ironic that most people back in the day who bought a car with one of these on, use to take them off and scrap them, if we only knew then eh!!

I'm just having the motor in my MK2 rebuilt and the engine builder is suggesting that this configuration strangles the motor and is talking about bypassing it! As I'm a bit of a fan of concourse, it will have to go back on regularly but its an interesting thought. Maybe I could lease it out. Anyway its interesting to know that a new one is out there somewhere. No doubt it will show up somewhere!
So what does thios do for the value of MK2s?

I think it is likely that Mk2 prices will continue to rise Peter. There is an article in the latest edition of Classic & Sportscar magazine on the prospects for Mk1 prices and the chap they interview from JD Classics reckons there is still scope for further increases in values. Although he is referring specifically to the Mk1, if prices do continue to increase, I guess it is inevitable that this will also have a knock on effect on the values of Mk2's. I think in general most interesting classic vehicles are a fairly safe bet as both a short term or long term investment as in the current economic climate there is precious little else out there that will offer a decent return on your money.
