Console fixings

Just working through restoring my centre console.
Can anyone advise re fixing screws
I think the screws through the side use a special cup washer with a flat face
Then a taper self tapper with a pan head but was this originally a blade head or posidrive?
Obviously these were chrome and the only place I can find over here is 50p each so would like to be correct.
Then the centre console appears to have been flat face screws with flat washers under them.
Again were these blade head or Philips (posi drive). And in chrome.

I would appreciate some guidance before I purchase new chrome screws

Most of the cars I have worked on were chrome Philips 'posi- drive' screws. I have recently had a Mk1 GT that looked as if the console had never been removed from new and they were definitely chrome posi-drive.

Thanks
Just the experience I hoped some one had.I got a box of bits a crusty console with car, and got quite a few spare bits from the cleanup at Terry Batchelor,s.
I had no blade screws in all my bits but the parts book illustrations shows a pic that looks like a blade.
Can you remember were they tapers into cup washers or flat face and flat washers for the attachment points on the sides and rear of console.
Similarly what type of screws were used to secure the gear lever boot,ie flat face or tapers into cup washers.

Kind Regards
Bruce Miles

Interestingly I found quite a few small differences between the early console fittings than the 66 I also worked
on at the weekend.

Mine has fairly thick black plastic washers, concave on the top to accept the tapered or countersink style chrome Philips head screw. I think they are correct/original but would be interested in what others say.

Hi Bruce, They were tapered screws locating in chrome cup type washers, the gear lever gaiter was held in by flat faced chrome posi-drive screws, I cannot remember any washers at all.

Thanks for all that.
Exactly what I thought as well.
I will put a small washer under the console screw to spare more marking on the anodised Aluminium panel.
Need to remember there are two types of cup washers one has a flat face at contact point the other will cut in.
