Early head?

Came across a october -63 LC, with it came a cylinder head that I find not follow the normal rules.
The numbers normally seen on the under side beside the head gasket face are not there. The head is not skimmed down so the number are gone, there are still nice casted surfaces there. Only markings are 13 9 63 that are stamped NOT casted, could that be a dating?
Number at the back is LP2457.
Any ideas?

LP2457 would have been produced around early 1965, we have LP2458 fitted to a Lotus Cortina built January 65, LP2457 does not appear to have been fitted to an Elan, so may well have been fitted to a LC, with that date stamp of 13-9-63 that head had been sitting around for quite a while before being used.

None of the numbers that is on your head Keith are there, only the stamped 13 9 63. I will get you some pics.
Do we know when they started to put tappet sleeves also on the inlet side? This head has only two sleeves on the inlet side and they do not look as nicely fitted as on the exhaust, so I guess the two has been fitted later.
It is a die cast head, very nice and smooth casting surfaces.
