Gearlever "singing"

The gearlever in my mk1 had begun "singing" quite badly and was starting to really annoy me. After consulting Scott (L.C.R. resident gearbox expert) I decided to strip down the remote shift, to reveal the fulcrum bush falling to bits and the gearlever bushes not there at all.

I have ordered the bits from the mk1 owners club and hopefully that will sort it.

I just replaced my gearlever bushes cured the "singing" problem straight away, liberal amounts of grease were applied as well,

AJT's gearlever has just started to make a nice sizzling at motorway speeds. Trouble is that my early alloy remote has the classic capri type bushes, with a small rollpin through the plastic circular bush and a one piece top hat bush at the bottom. I'm replacing the circulr bush with a metal one from an Anglia, but does anyone know where I might find the deep top hat bush for the bottom end?
The Mk 1 club bushes won't fit this gearlever.
