Lotus Cortina Mk1, 1965. Ex-Paul Matty Collection for 19 years. A very correct and desirable example in the classic Mk1 Lotus Cortina livery of Ermine White and the Sherwood Green flash. Rebuilt engine to big-valve specification and rebuilt gearbox. New 3-piece clutch fitted (to the original feel and not over-sprung). Lots of other new parts fitted during the recommissioning. Runs beautifully and smoothly throughout the rev range. I got hooked on the Mk1 Lotus Cortina in 1966 when my engineering apprentice colleague bought a brand new one and showed it to the gathered group around the car admiring it. Since starting the Lotus business a few years later we have bought and sold many of these exciting cars. This drives as well as any of the ones I have ever driven, as it has the original feel from my memories of decades ago. This is a lovely looking original car with some nice patination throughout commensurate with its age, even down to the original 60 year old Lotus badges adorning the bodywork. Correct wood-rimmed steering wheel and horn-push etc. etc. so reminiscent of the bygone era. Original Green Logbook. So many of the Lotus Cortina’s have been turned into racing cars, so great to see one in this “correct” condition. This car has a real presence about it and the driving of it is so much fun. Can be delivered anywhere in the world.

A very nice looking car.

JUST FOR FUN, I can spot the following "errors/omissions", but I am being VERY picky!

Wrong starter solenoid
Pipework to/from servo looks wrong
Plenum chamber drain pipe missing
Jubilee clips everywhere instead of wire type
Alternator in place of dynamo
Wrong horns
Wrong temperature gauge
Clock fitted in place of Indianapolis 500 badge
Ford ID badge wrong shape?

Can anyone spot any others?

I stress that this is just for fun and does not spoil an otherwise lovely car.

I remain one of Keith's "die-hards".

Commenting to learn correctness, but I would also think the oil fill cap is wrong and the fuel fill tube should not be black?
