Lotus Festival Brands Hatch 2nd September 2017

The Lotus festival at Brands Hatch is a 1 day event in 2017 (2nd September) as Lotus Cup Europe will not be attending. Still have Lotus Cup UK and Elise Event, plus more.

I've not discussed free tickets yet, but we usually get some. Will ask for a better location in 2017 and have asked for consideration to a parade lap.

Can I gauge the level of interest please for a club presence.

Decision time folks. With only 2 attending do I ask for a stand or not?

We need to give organisers a commitment so they can plan the event.

I fully appreciate we all like to make up our minds nearer the time but this does not help those trying to plan a show.

Preparations are well underway for this years Lotus Festival and tickets have gone on sale today. We'd love to welcome you back again for 2017 with your club stand.
The event is the same as usual, with the only (major!) exception being that the event is being held over 1 day this year. It will return to 2 days for 2018. This is due to Lotus Cup Europe holding their UK rounds on incompatible dates but we will have Lotus Cup UK, Elise Trophy and several other race series competing at the event so there's still plenty of motorsport. I'm currently sourcing F1 cars for the usual display and we even hope to allow the Lotus Type 110 club to get a few laps in on their bikes! Any suggestions for anything else which your members would like to see, I'm open to any and all suggestions.
The date is Saturday 2nd Sept. We'll be able to provide your club with a good number of complimentary car passes and tickets as usual and you can have your usual spot, so that your member know how to find you.
Please let me know that you'll be in attendance for this year's event and I'll make the arrangements. If you can let me know numbers closer to the time I'll then post your tickets to you.

Wow, what a brilliant day. Makes up for the disappointment of Crystal Palace last Monday.

4 x Mk2's and 2 x Mk1's. Yes more Mk2 than Mk1.

Despite Mk 1s being outnumbered by Mk 2s, we had another really great day out at Brands - in fact for me and NAR, it's only the second time that we have been out on the road since September 2016 due to steering component rebuild - things take so much longer to complete as you get older! The weather was great, the racing was excellent, the two-seater Spitfire was up most of the day from nearby Biggin Hill, the bacon butties with mustard were hot - and so were the promotion girls!
Thanks once again to Howard for organising this event and especially to Neal Webb for walking to the entrance and sweet-talking the man on the gate to let me into the ground after I had left my entry tickets in the garage at home - it's another age thing I guess (I mean me, not Neal)!

It was me who persuaded the gateman you were legit' as Neal was a long walk away and by the time your wife had returned with him you and car were inside and parked.
