Here we have my lotus cortina Mk2 race car, fully working and ready to race it is a series one mk2 1968 F reg, it is rust free now as all the rust was cut out and panels replaced from the rusty shell up build
This car has been used for sprints and circuit racing in the CTRC post historics and group one touring cars class G and can be seen last, and this year at the lydden classic festival on motors TV .Spec is immense so i will try to describe it all
Seam welded original shell with full rollcage sprayed two pack inside and out rosso corsa (ferrari red) with gold roof and stripe in alan mann colours, laminated windscreen (small crack & chip) interior is removed mainly but i have the rear seats. Original dash with racetech gauges fitted in place of the originals,original speedo and rev counter (disconnected) additional rev counter,lifeline plumbed in fire system for cockpit and engine bay plus handheld both( in date).Drivers seat is carbon kevlar spoon and there is a 5 point TRS harness (in date).Battery is housed in a fibreglass box in the boot and there is a 5 gall ali tank,red top pump and filter king,There are two sets of wheels all are revoloution one set has Khumo road tyres and the other has Yokohama A048R medium compound tyres now only useful for track day. All of the suspension is polybushed with the exception of the leaf srings. 7/8 diameter front anti roll bar with double width kit,Gaz fron struts(1 race old) with adjustable platform,mounted to solid eccentric top mounts,strutbrace spax adjustable rears.Front discs are cross drilled and have 4pot willwood calipers,braided hoses,rears are std 9 inch drums there is bias pedal box with dash adjuster.Rear axle has anti tramp (polybushed) and panhard rod,4.1 diff with plate type LSD, solid prop, Gearbox is a 4 speed straight cut (tran x) bullet ratios with long first gear and is fitted with a quickshift. Engine is a tall block 711m wills ringed with internal oil spray bar, a QED cylinder head, sprint valves,race springs,420 lift QED billet cams,cosworth forged pistons,lightened and balanced, steel flywheel, twin 45 webers and is dry sumped with the tank under the bonnet plus oil cooler and remote filter housing, braided oil hoses, samco water hoses,ali radiator,electric fan,engine is mounted to a world cup crossmember with the round type mounts.exhaust is 4,2,1 into an Ashley 21/4 bore system.Engine power is around 150bhp.
I have the V5 in my name,the car has been and could be road legal without any mods, if you dare ! , i could last around 20 mins and wore ear protection.although the MOT has run out now and it is also SORN
The chassis number is BA91********* and is correct.
I have quite a bit of documentation on the engine etc etc, some of the work was done by holbay,wilcox and QED ,this car is a race car so not mint ,however is is very,very clean and dent free,does not drive like any other mk2 and is well sorted.
