Mk2 TEA 181G on Ebay

Car needs inner, outer sills and the out riggers need work. Fella's after £7k. Apart from the work needed it looks a nice series one car.

Was Silver Fox resprayed in 1979, I should know this car it being in Sutton but I don't anyone looking to buy please check the chassis number with me as we have two numbers listed.

Interesting that the seller has an airbox for sale in another listing. Is this a ploy to try and make more by selling the car in one auction and other bits off it in another. When I looked at this car couple years back it had no airbox with it.

Hi all

I posted a question to seller of this item asking about present condition re: (any damage etc) especially the “bakelite airbox cover” a couple of hours before bidding stopped. He sent me a reply saying that “airbox system had been removed from car”.

I thought this strange as I never mentioned the car that was in another sale on e-bay. I watched this item bid up to £360. It didn’t make reserve. I did notice from the pictures of airbox system, that the 3 holes that secure the airbox cover, to the airbox backplate, were considerably larger than should be and it looked like there was damage around all 3 holes.

I would have bid good money if it had been in better condition. And would also have looked at bidding on car as a possible rebuild project as it is the early series1, had I not first read the notes you all posted re: CARS section regarding, Mk2 TEA 181G on Ebay. We’ll have to see what it makes!!

Has anyone seen car close up to see true present condition? Also, from Rick’s notes on chassis number discrepancy, could it be one to body swerve? Any thoughts?

If the Fern green one that sold in the last couple of weeks made just over £7K and if the description was to be beleived it didn't need anywork , I would say this one was dear at £7k if it need the work you mention.

For £7K I would expect a nice drivable car with tax and MOT , with little work needed , but not major welding.
