My name is Göran Eriksson from the village Lövånger in the north of Sweden. Member No 2461 in Lotus Cortina register since a couple of years but this is the first time I visit your forum.
I am an owner of a Lotus Cortina Mk1, 1966. Please find enclosed photos.
This car was imported from USA to Sweden 1997 and was professionally renovated by the previous owner in the next few years. It was next placed in an exhibition hall for classic cars until 2013 when I bought the car and fixed some smaller measures remained. A Registration inspection was made at the Swedish authorities and the car was ready for use.
Unfortunately I do not have so much information about the car's history. At the time of importation 1997 it was sold by Wire Wheel Classic Sport Cars Inc. in Florida who is specialized in English sport- and race cars. http://www.wirewheel.com
The car is LHD and the Vehicle number on the Chassie Plate is BA74FT59402.
At the arrival in Sweden the car was inspected by the Southern Swedish Chamber of Commerce and they confirmed in a statement that the car was “in original condition and consistent with the original design of the model.”
It look forward to get in contact with other Lotus Cortina owners and tips on how to go about to find out the car's history from the beginning and previous owners would be much appreciated.
