Overheating

Thanks Dave,
The rebuild seemed to go on for so long!!

I cant remember how many times I spun the engine over with the plugs out trying to get the oil pressure to register anything... I ended up removing the pipe from the oil cooler and pumping about 1/2 pint of oil through it to prime the oil pump which worked.
The engine starts on the button now, something it never did before.

Thank you,
One of the many things I did/had done during the rebuild was to have the head machined so I could fit the new valve guides/seals i purchased from Omnitech engineering. The engine does not smoke now, I also think it is the reason it starts so easily now as the cylinders are not soaked in oil!!!

Hi All,

I took my car out for another long run last night, I have noticed that when I let my foot off the throttle travelling down hill the exhaust pops like fuel is igniting. I pulled over after a constant run at 3000 rpm and pulled the plugs. All were a nice colour but the tops of 3 pistons were wet.
Any ideas please.
Tick over is not as smooth as I would like it...

Cheers
Paul
