Quarter Bumper: RIP

I was saddened to receive Andy Morell's letter today announcing the demise of Quarter Bumper.
I quite understand the reasons for axing it and I am as guilty as the next man for not submitting any articles for many years.
I did write up the history of the first 25 years of the magazine and this was published in 2005.
I am also proud that I have a copy of EVERY issue, including the very early single sheet ones before the QB proper took off.
As time goes by, I guess they will become quite a collector's item.
We can all look forward to the 60th anniversary of the introduction of the Lotus Cortina but life will not be quite the same without the QB magazine.

I have just received and read Andy's letter. I think the proposals sound really positive and it's great to see the club taking the steps mentioned. I think the QB had run its course and I really look forward to the future 👍🏻

This is indeed sad news. I haven't seen the official notification but its just a sign of the times. Its probably time to increase our electronic presence. it will be more important than ever. And at least we still have the Forum.

I like the idea of moving to the website & expanding the content , as the Mk1 Cortina Owners' Club revamped their website & dropped the forum in favour of Facebook, but that interface is so clunky & is no use at all as a repository for historical information reference & technical articles. In this business we really need that.

Sad news about QB
I dont use facebook so miss out on a lot of whats going on
But thats my choice
Maybe one day I will change my view on facebook lol 😀

I'm with you 100% on Facebook Rob, your not alone.
It is a shame about the QB, I still refur to Bryan Moorcrofts fantastic technical articles.

Me too Brian, a wealth of technical information from the Bryan era a lot of it from his own 'hands on' experiences.
