I'll probably be called a kill joy but seeing someone sitting in the boot of that Escort while it's running up on the rollers and with no visible vehicle restraints is just frightening.

Tim - You are absolutely right. The Health & Safety Act 1994 states - part IV chapter 3 verse 9 - "All vehicles placed on a dyno or rolling road exceeding 30 MPH must be physically tethered by 4 ratchet straps of no less than 70,000 Kgs breaking strain & anyone within 50 metres must wear a blastproof suit & be behind a carbon fibre barrier capable of withstanding a blast equivalent to the Hiroshima experiment at the end of WWII". You can't take any chances these days otherwise KGR Bloomer will be after you for a no win, no fee deal.

LOL.... :D

I started with 96 BHP at the flywheel and finished up with 131!! The test revealed that the newly fitted 'factory set' Facet Silver Top electronic fuel pump/filter pressure regulator was only pushing out 0.5 psi fuel pressure. This was increased to 3.5 psi. The carbs were being starved of air as the Bosch paper filter I have been running with for some years was far too big for the filter can (see discussion in the website maintenance section). After re-jetting the carbs and tweaking the ignition timing, she runs like a dream now and 'starts on the button'. However, the test damaged the dynamo and/or regulator and this prevented me taking the old girl the National Day - never mind it did save her (but not me) getting a good soaking!! Roll on 2009!!

What a result. Lets hope for some decent weather so you can get some use out of it before its winter rest.

What profile cams are you using and what size jets are you now using?

NAR is running a pair of L14 cams, main jet 115, emulsion tubes F11, air corrector 180, idle jet 50F8, float level is adjusted to 9.5mm (closed), fuel pressure 3.5psi, ignition timing set to 13BTDC at idle and 32BTDC at 4500RPM full advance. Plugs are NGK BP6ES gapped at .025"

Made me laugh:
