Touring in Ireland

Just got back from a 1,000 mile tour round SW Ireland in my Mk 2 S2 and in the company of several other Lotus cars courtesy of Lotus Drivers Club. The car ran faultlessly throughout and attracted a lot of attention.

Here's a picture taken at Kells last weekend......

If pushed hard enough I might manage an article for Quarter Bumper....

I'm surprised at how light the Cortina is compared to the modern Lotus cars. I just sold an Exige S1 that was well below 800Kg but the S2 Exige is listed at 915 Kg while the Cortina is listed at 919Kg.

No wonder it goes so well! It has a Rapier Services engine but I don't know what power it is putting out. I'm sure its performance surprised some of those taking part.......
