All,

Due to a change in priorities I am selling two of my cars. I just dont have the time or the room anymore. Both cars are located in Perth Western Australia. I can help with shipping.

THE EARLY CAR: Totally original and unrestored. Ex Pierpoint car 1DYC (now 4430PF) purchased from Trevor Barefoot in 2003. Thought to be the 3rd oldest car to survive. Has all log books, photo history and letters from original owners. Car is totally original with all correct parts: Original Shell, Steering wheel, rubber mats, seats, 2.5 gearbox, torpedo prop, ally panels, original head, block, early and correct badges including the flat nose badge etc etc. Won most original LC at 2002 Nationals. The car will need a full resto but I have collected all the parts for the job, including NOS ford panels or very good rust free examples. Comes with fresh crank, pistons, shells, NOS loom, starter, rear bezels, lamp lenses, irvin belts, Pics of the car are available at http://www.lotus-cortina.com/photos/52514d/52514d.htm It drives, stops etc and all parts needed for the resto will be included. I am open to offers. I will not seperate so please dont ask about any of the goodies - they belong with this car, which once restored will be of high value.

THE MK2: Fully restored MK2 series 1. Due to very tough life it was reshelled :( but into a very good rust free shell, all reinforcing etc now back on new shell. Fresh paint and rebuilt, suspension, brakes, 2.9 box and interior. Comes with original airbox, fresh webers, new minilites and tyres. I am however, having the engine rebuilt again, due to some, er problems? It has a 701M L block bored to 84.5mm but it comes with the original MK2 LC block. I am asking $25,000AUD. It will come with all MK2 parts I have which is a few boxes of guages, lights, original rims etc.

I can email pics. please email me at cortinagt500@gmail.com.
Cheers,

Andrew

Sorry to hear you are having to part with your posessions Andrew. If I had not just bought another house.....well you know the story.

Hi Andrew,

What sort of price range are you after for your mark 1.? Do you own a GT500? If so is it possible to see some photos?

Cheers
Raymond

Do cortina's make good money in Aus ? As it would be good to make £12k for an openly re-shelled mk2 lotus over here.

A member sold one on here for approx £7.5 , and it was back up for sale in oz for approx £25K. I don't know if it sold at that price , but that gives you an idea of what people want over there.... They don't have the choice of cars that we do.

Up for sale again at a slightly higher price !

It is great to see the car finally finished. I wonder if it retained the trick rear end?

I must say - Interesting story - "1963 Colin Chapman allocated this Lotus Cortina to the famous international racing driver Roy Pierpoint through his friend the young Alan Mann, who was then a salesman at the Ford garage, Andrews of Southwick".

I did speak to another famous international driver 'of the times' about the provenance of this car (when I owned it). This famous driver, was friends with Roy and while visiting him, spoke to him about his memories of the car. So, the above 'interesting story' is interesting.....

Hi Andy,

The car still has the "John Young?" Rear end.

After looking at the car before you bought it, it ended up being restored in Scotland about 25 miles from me. Had a good look over it when it was finished.

Cheers

Thanks George. That's great news. It should handle very well.

Funny, I also read that no panels were replaced - that certainty would not have been possible in Australia.

Cheers

Andy
