Through an advertisement in the latest issue of QB, I have been fortunate enough to obtain a photocopy of the very first publication from the LCR.
Entitled "LOTUS-CORTINA REGISTER BULLETIN No.1", it is dated 01/08/79 and comprises 3 typed A4 sheets together with 2 pages of LC spares then available from Caterham Car Sales. There are also photocopies of pages 58 and 155 of the Cortina Parts book.
The article mentions some notable LCR names from the past...David Missions, Don Matheson, Clyde Ward...but I cannot see the name of the author. Maybe Phil Baskerville but does anybody out there know for certain?
It is interesting to read that, even 40 years ago, apathy among the membership (then 150) reigned supreme.
Quoting from the article, "The feed-back from most of the members of the register has, on the whole, been pretty grotty........."
Subsequent editors of QB have voiced very similar sentiments down the years!
