For those of you who are interested a few lines on how we register cars at the Cortina MK1 O.C.
Towards the end of 2008 I accepted to volunteer as the club's vehicle registrar, a new job at that time.
I had a Filemaker database built to contain any information I considered relevant with regard to the cars and the owners. As this was built specifically for the club it serves it's purpose very well.
With regard to privacy: If a query comes from a member about a certain car I have information about I pass it on to the current owner, leaving it up to the latter person to reply or not.
Being Dutch I must say I'm amazed about the lengths some people in the UK go through to steal a car. I've never heard about thieves doing so much effort to get their hands on a car over here.
Reason? I suppose the (relative) number of 'car-criminals' in Holland is not lower compared to the UK, they are just lazier over here....
Anyway, I fully appreciate the concern of our members on this matter and try to act accordingly, with no complaints so far.
