Airbox seal

Hi peter

I fossicked around Clark rubber in leichhardt and found a profile that works quite well. But if I recall correctly, early Toyota corolla rocker cover seals work fine too. Let's do brunch soon. Robert

ok. I found a profile that I made work but it looks nothing like the one on the car currently......but then I'm not convinced that one was correct either......but that's no reason not to have brunch.....

Me again. This is the older style of gasket, I remember using this style on a twin cam escort I owned in the '70s. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/171698563773?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Installation is a bit more finicky and involves the use of some permatex #3 (or similar), as many clothes pegs as you can get hold of, and an overnight to cure. But from memory, once set, works quite well. I'm thinking of going back to this type, as the rubber channel type of seal has a habit of extruding itself out of place.

I've just had a look at that gasket but I've used a Clark Rubber extrusion that I had to cut on one side and it slipped over the lid side and that fitted inside the bottom part and it looks like a good seal for now. As its hidden, it might be the best seal for now. We still need to catch up....
