Anti roll bar

Hi, I have a team deville 7/8 Anti roll bar that's fitted with a spacer to adjust the caster. With the spacer fitted the caster setting is standard cortina, see picture with it next to a standard roll bar. Should i keep the spacer fitted for standard road set up or is standard lotus set up with spacer removed which brings the front wheels forward. Car is mk1 with lotus tca's and straight steering arms.

All the recent quick race cars run with more castor, some even resorting to moving the front anti roll bar mounting forward by an 1" or so (although I believe the scrutineers are on to that now). More castor gives you better self centering and straight line stability up to a point, so I would be tempted to try the car with both settings to see what suits your personal taste.

Thanks Ray, is the standard mk1 Lotus caster setting the same as standard mk1 Cortina settings?

Thanks.

The standard Cortina castor figures are between 1 degree 12 minutes and 2 degrees 42 minutes positive.
