I went to Halfords and thought I would pick up some antifreeze,- I was asked if I wanted OAT or not ??
I just want glycol ! Are the modern formulations compatible or should I drain completely and refill with modern stuff?

Pete. I got a 5L can of Bluecol antifreeze last year from MotorNuts. I just checked & they're still on ebay so just do a google search & they'll come up. They're in Lancaster. £29.99. The item number is 123151745618.

You should not mix OAT and traditional type anti freeze together.
From what I have read I can't see any advantage with the new formulas so I continue to use glycol

OAT anti freeze is not advised for use in older vehicles, according to the manufacturers, as apparently it can attack copper and brass used in older type radiators. OAT antifreeeze is normally red in colour, I'd stick with normal blue coloured ethylene glycol antifreezes like Bluecol .
