Cad Plating Colour

Hi again fellas, I'm going to have the bonnet catch and spring and slam panel striker plate re plated. Does anyone know if they should be zinc nickel plated [silver] or cadmium plated [gold]?

I have a related question and plan to have the striker parts replated zinc but I wonder about the spring. Mine has traces of black paint on it so was it painted black and the remaining parts zinc? (disregard the flecks of white - this area had been resprayed white in the past)
