CORTINA LOTUS FAKES

I'm interested in getting a Mk2 Series 1 Cortina Lotus (I've already got a Mk1 1965 and got Rick to check it was authentic)
Should I be looking out for fakes?
If so what should I look for?

it depends a lot on what sort of car you want and what you intend to do with it.

There's going to be one for sale at auction soon and the chassis plate suggests it's ok (91 after the first two letters)
Is this enough to authenticate it do you think?
Are fake Mk 2's as prevalent and sophisticated as Mk 1's?

I'd recommend an inspection anyway on any classic car I did'nt know personally. It's hard to say if mk2's are 'faked' as much as mk1's, there is a bit less on them thats different than other models which means it is harder to spot a well replicated LC.
