I have a problem with the engine cross member and was wondering if anyone can advise.
I have a Mk 2 series 1 which I race and unfortunately I was in a big accident last year which sheared the engine mounts and bent the engine fixing points on the cross member.
The repair work has been done and I picked up a cross member which I installed with all the steering linkage fitting no problem. I also bought 2 new engine mounts the same size as the previous but when I was about to replace the engine I could see that the gap was not going to be big enough.
The gap between the engine mounts is approx. 120mm and the width across the engine is approx. 190mm
This points to the fact that the cross member legs are closer than the previous version.
Reading some of the earlier posts there seems to be a change between earlier or later cars or different engine cc's ?
The gap across the top metal points of the cross member that I have is approx. 380mm
Is someone able to confirm which models/cc's I should aim for to put the correct cross member back in place.
I have a few photos which shows the problem.

Also if anyone has a spare cross member that would get me round this problem I'm interested, thank you.
