This is the latest project

Genuine works rally car
Ex Ove Andersson car

Early 1967 model

I bought this recently from a fellow LCR member
Car has now been inspected by the LCR
Thought it best to have car inspected before we pull it apart

The car will be up Waynes garage very soon to start another full restoration
He knows Mk2’s inside out

Car is 95% complete but very rusty
All the original rally fitments are still on the car

Looking forward to this one ?

This car is the reason I sold HNO

Looking forward to this project Rob.

Does it have two brake servos in the engine bay? Seem to recall seeing a pic of one set up like that - can't remember if it was this one.

No Steve
Only 1No servo

Ive got all new old stock panels for it
The only part that i dont have for the car is the diff

See extra tank and bracket for spare wheels

Im really pleased with it

Car is Dragoon red, thats not a vynal roof its been sprayed with textured paint ?

Rob - it it too far gone to do a preservation rather than a restoration?

Just thinking on a car like its good to show its battle wounds.

Its rotten Steve

A posts Floors, chassis outriggers plus collision damage down drivers side ?

Funny thing is its very good under the bonnet
Andy even found original stamped vin in top plate ?

The inner wings and top plates are more or less rust free which is a massive bonus

i've got the same long range tank too :) it was fitted to my first mk2 .was going to talk to you about making copies but now you have your own :) what type of roll cage,if any, would this have had ? i have the one that the rear bars go to the parcel shelf, made from very thin material.

Any alloy panels on it Rob?

No all steel panels

Need to clear some space in shed to start stripping it to bare shell ?
Got to box up and label parts before it goes to Wayne for bodywork
Will put on roll over frame

I made a roll over frame for KPU its been very useful

I need a diff if anyone knows of one or has one for sale

See floor mounted handbrake
Its also still got brackets on bulkhead for original dash handbrake

This restoration will be starting soon. Ive still got it ?

Will try and get strip out work done over Christmas holiday

Well we started the Mk2 this week
Such an original car with so many of the original works parts still in place
The car has original top plates with original stamped vin
The top plates and inner wings are all seam welded as well as much of the underside of the car

There is an extra engine mount that fixes to the bell housing
Also additional gear box mounts

The standard fuel tank has a heavy duty guard on underside
The pipework from both tanks via switch/valve is very neat and cleaver the way installed

Wiring going to be a nightmare. Its as if the car has 2 looms
Loads of extra lights, horns etc

Oil cooler pipes are all still in place
Grill behind front lower valance still there

It has a floor mounted handbrake but most of the dash mounted parts are still there

Also I have a feeling this car had a single piece propshaft

Car now fully stripped out and on the roll over frame

Cut out rusty 'A posts' made new ones and let them in. All stifferners behind been repaired
Test fitted doors and wings and all good.. Both 'A posts' both sides now done ready for a skim of filler

Now got to cut out rust in scuttle/piller area and put new metal in there both sides.
Headligh panel and slam panel rusty either side so will get on to that also.

Once front end done I will move onto floors

Enjoying it so far ?
