For Sale in NZ

Window's or doors may have been changed during the cars long life. If it was proved to have a genuine shell and all the numbers matched up, would the sealed quarter light windows still put you in doubt ? i think not.

weren't the opening quarter lights changed to sealed ones with the introduction of the aeroflow ventilation ?

No the fixed quarterlights were introduced 10/65 for the 66 model year.
64/65 aeroflow cars (except fleet models) had opening quarterlights.

As it is a 64 aeroflow car, it should originally of had the "horrible A frame" that the ad says it doesn't have. Some pictures of the boot area and a look underneath for the A frame mounts, would tell a tale.

A lot more pictures now added including chassis number and inside boot.

This chassis number has been stamped with a 2 instead of a Z. My car log book has the same issue , and I have seen other as well with it.

Well then, wrong chassis number, no boot bars, wrong front seats, etc, etc, another mongrel.

Hi Tommy,
besides the obvious things like the steering wheel, how can you see no boot bars? There is only one photo of the hump or am I missing something. Also what's wrong with the seat? I haven't got my car here at present and mine is a later model but are the seats more like a 66?
Will be interesting to see what this sells for. The last one in NZ sold for NZ$77k but it was much more correct.

There is a shot of the spare wheel side of the boot, with no A frame type boot stengthening where there should be Peter. The front seats are 10/65 on type, wrong for a 64 aeroflow.
As for the chassis plate, Ford would not have stamped a 2 in error, instead of a Z, I would say it's a repro, thus stamped to match a mistake in the log book and then "distressed" to look old.
As for the chassis number itself, well Rick is our expert there.

64 aeroflow should have the diamond shaped plate and pre-aeroflow type chassis number. Chassis plate did not change to the oblong one and chassis number type did not change until Jan 65.
So chassis plate and lay out of chassis number are right for a 64 car.
Tommy

The month code R at the end of the chassis number gives this a Feb 64 build which would make it a pre-aeroflow car, which it obviously isn't.
So that's another thing wrong then.
