hi I have a 66 lotus cortina it was originally a california car, the question i have is it has a ford product badge just under the trunk (boot) lock, i have noticed this on a few other cars also they all seem to be from cali. does anybody know the reason for this. it was built feb 66 thanks Dan.

Old road tests from when the cars were new, in the Lotus Cortina Gold Portfolio book, show U.S. market cars badged in that way.

Hi Dan, yes there's a few mk1 loti about in both parts of Ireland. There are about half a dozen in the north that I personally know of and a few mk2s as well. Not sure how many in the south, but I have seen a couple of cars with the ZV number plates that they put on the old imported cars.
