Hi Hans, as well as the obvious aftermarket front seats, the steering wheel, gear knob and some of the instruments are wrong. In my opinion that's no big deal, but a look at the "special" areas on the shell would be more informative. If those are right then, that's what would be important to me.

P.S. Also Michael's favourite, the Indianapolis 500 badge is in the wrong place on the console.

Thanks for the info Tommy. I made some notes from some posts on the forum about what to look for on cars shell. Does anyone know if a MK1 buyers guide/check list is on the LCR some place? I have searched but did not find one. I noted from another site for example that a 66 cars brake calipers are mounted in front not to the rear of the struts as on earler cars (is this correct?).

Thanks

Lotus cortina from 10/65 on, uses the bigger P16 type front calipers, which were indeed originally mounted to the front of the strut, rather than behind like the P14 brake cars. Also bear in mind that on any mk1 cortina the calipers can quite easily be mounted either way, as the struts are interchangeable side for side, so I wouldn't use it too much for that "is it real?" decision.

Hi,i have a LHD, "US" spec car,and the boot has the cortina script on the right ,and the ford badge below the lock, and one on the lower wing.
All only cosmetic but ??
If this is a U.S. car they had hazzard warning lights as standard, and nornally have all the tags in place, and no top plates, therfore showing the chassis no ,which should shed more light.
Before any money changes hands get the club to check out the numbers
Good luck.

On my 66 airflow had to swap them to the back because the new anti roll bar hit the caliper on full lock with the p16s

Are the accelerator pedals bigger on airflow cars? The one on this one looks a lot bigger then the one on mine. (64 car)

Thanks for all the feed back. Had to cancel my meeting to see the car, got stuck away on a business trip due to bad weather. Will try and go next week.

Photos of the boot floor/diff hump and chassis legs over the axle from underneath would be good too.

Got back home at last, snow all over the place again. I aksed the seller for the ID number etc.

Thanks again for all the info and Andy im about 2 hrs away by car, however your advice is well taken!
