Been chating with a couple of members re. this problem, got the answere but need to know what size to order.
I have just put 6J minilights on to my 65 mk1,tyres are 185/60 bridgestone, the very bottom of the lower ball joint is catching the inner rim,at cornering.
Spacers are needed, anyone used spacers, with this combination,if so what size?
Cheers.

Yep, you have to shorten the threads....I nearly ruined a pair of Superlights before I learned that one

Fitted 5mm spacers,so am now clear of lower ball joint, however the wheel studs have now 5mm less useable thread, and the wheels are only just on.
1-So, must i fit longer studs?
2-Where can i get some?
3 How do they come out?,the back of the studs seem round.

They're pressed into the hub with a knurl, so you just hammer them out. I had a hard time finding longer studs with the right diameter knurl, but eventually found that Jeff at JAE in California has some made up by ARP that are quite nice.

To be honest though, you most likely don't NEED spacers if you just cut the stud down so that there is only 1 or two threads standing proud of the nut.

Thanks Benny, the threads are cut down,i reakon i could get away with it buy shamfering the nut on the inside, this is only "fractionally"· catching the rim.(one side more than the other?)dont know if this would be a good idear though???,certainly a quicker solution, even a tempory one, while and if, i have to track down some longer studs.

When I had this trouble, I used the longer studs that TechDel supplied with the wheels.

However, 3 words of warning:

I found that the old studs would not hammer out and I had to press them out using a combination of old wheel nuts.
Likewise, the new studs had to be pulled in, also with wheel nuts.
The new studs were also rather too long so all were shortened by approximately 6mm.

Altogether a pain in the arse, but at least the wheel rims are now clear of the bottom ball joint studs.

Tracked down some longer studs at speedshack.
7/16"unf-13.1mm ford spline,43mm not inc pressed head.
Any body know if these will do the job, before i order them.
