I'm looking to sell the above car which I have had for owned for 45 Yrs.
It is an original Lotus and was my road car back in the day and I still have the original V5,
Since then I have adapted it for racing, I built it over a number of years and raced mainly with the CTCRC and also the CSCC from 2006 up until Covid now it is time for someone else to have some fun, the question is what is it worth?
I have been looking for sometime and I tend to see a number of MK 1's but never Mk 2's.
Mechanically it is sound and the body work is good but it is a race car.
Tried lightening everything Fibreglass bonnet and front wings, perspex windows all round except the front, ally fuel tank I have 2 sizes depending on the length of race, Minilite wheels (I have a spare set also)
It has all the usual mods to race, Steel crank, lightened pistons, big valve head, race cams, running on twin 45's, electronic igniton, alternator, lightened flywheel, twin sintered clutch, hydraulic clutch on first motion shaft
Gearbox straight cut (dogbox)ally bell housing & tail, centre (gear cluster) is magnesium, short shift gear lever
Rear axle LSD ally diff casing, quaife half shafts
Brakes front Wilwood twin pot on vented discs, rear standard 7" drums (they were good enough)
Suspension adjustable damping all round, single leaf springs at the rear.
Lots of other tweeks but I guess too many to list here,
Any idea where I should be as a starting price ???
