Sorry to be a dissenter, but altough the new forum has a better appearance, i find it fragmented ! The previous version allowed you to see all the new posts in one view, but now you have to choose what subject heading you are interested in to see the latest comments,- where do I put this??

Hi there Pete. When you log on you can check all new posts since your last visit. The benifit of this is that you do not have to scroll through the latest posts if you are looking for a particular thread etc.
There is definately a bit more involved in the navigation side of things but does that not give you a better excuse to sit there longer and peruse?

Pete , there are a few ways to make your life easier.

From the main page (http://lotuscortina.7.forumer.com/index.php) if you look down the new categories each one has what looks like an 'e' at the beginning of it.

If this is blue and static it means nothing new has been posted in that topic. If it is orange (and spining I think) something new has been posted. This way its easy for you to identify which topic you need to check.

Also another (and probably better way) is from the main page , if you look at the top right hand side you will see 'View posts since last visit', 'View your posts' , 'View unanswered posts' - Click on which one you fancy seeing the results of.

I'm still finding new tools and functions every day - but I'm sure once you have got used to it you will never look back.

Hi Pete

With respect, I think the need for this revised format was to make things easier to find as we continue to grow the history, they get lost in one long list, so the indexing helps 'the wood for the trees' syndrome.

It's a bit like storing files on your PC - it helps to lump them under broad headings ( folders) for easier retrieval later.

It will get asier with familiarity I expect.

Hi Pete,
There is no doubt it will take people a while to get used to.
As said above clicking on the 'view posts since last visit' will give you near enough the same layout as the old forum.
As for topics, don't panic to much if something gets put in the wrong section, Steve or myself can move it later.
Cheers
Louis
