Original spark plug caps

At three years old my car had Lucas 90 deg plug caps which were also used on the MGA. Copies are available now but are very unreliable so I would like to change to period NGK or Champion.

Is anyone out there old enough to have seen if NGK or Champion caps were ever fitted by Lotus to LC's in '65.

I doubt if NGK were around in 1965. more likly to be Lodge or I think KLG ( they had a factory on the A3 kingston bypass where Asda is now)

NGK have been making spark plus since the 1930s

I think the problem with with replacement chop fooy Far East HT parts Dist caps rotor arms plug caps they are using carbon in the plastic to make it black looks good but HT will track through carbon.
So you need to be careful / lucky what you buy better to use red rotor arms.

Over the years I have klepto collected some original
Bakelite right angled champion ones and a set of
Burgundy coloured cone shaped NGK ones look better
than the usual magnecor stuff but probably less efficient??
