seat belts in a mark 2 series 2 LC

Can anyone tell me when (if?) inertia reel seat belts were introduced to the LCs? I understand they may have been an option on series 2 mark 2 LCs.

Hi from Perth - you're up late it is 9:30 in your world! I'm told that they are identical to those fitted to the early escorts so that's the reason for my question.

Driving the LC I'd forgotten how tangled the standard belts can get.

Ive got inertia's fitted to my series 1 lc from new. They where an optional extra.

Dont know where to buy them from tho sorry.

I fitted Escort inertia reels when I first got mine...lasted about a week and I chucked 'em. Cutting into neck, and rear passengers tripping on them..the lower sill mount was just in the wrong place. Now happily untangling and untwisting my original belts every time I get in.

I am getting used to the reels in my car but would like new ones.....probably a hard call!

I bought some Securon inertia belts for my Series 1 since I found the static belts to restrictive. Go to their web site www.securon.co.uk.
The part no is 500/30 and although it does not list the series 1 they do fit.
They don't supply direct but if you ring them they can give you a local distributor.

sprint-gt beat me to it. I have Securon ones fitted to my series 2 MkII.

Have them in red to almost match the car. Dont think there is a difference between series 1 and series 2 and yes inertia reel are much tidier than standard ones.
