Hi

I have a B-series engine that is over bored and so runs Lotus Cortina pistons. Can anyone tell me where I can get replacement piston rings?

Thanks in advance

The size is normaly stamped in the top of the piston (ie STD, +030,+040 ect..) but uprated pistons (powermax ect...)do have differant rings to standard pistons. Speak to burtons or QED over the phone with a piston in your hand to describe cast in numbers, crownshape, valve cutouts ect.. PS. Hope you marked what piston came from what bore.

Please don't take this the wrong way Hpi, but the type of question you are asking suggests you are not experienced in engine rebuilding, so if this is the case please consider if you are the best person for the job.

We've all got to start somewhere haven't we? Rebuilding the bottom end of my engine is the only thing I haven't done, since iv done the rest I might as well do this.

Besides whats going to be so difficult about it? Your not to far from me fancy lending me a hand and a garage

Go for it it's the only way to learn check the new rings in the bore for gap use piston upside down to push down the bore and have a pre run with old rings off and on to get the feel or you may brake a new ring .
