2000E Synchro Hubs

Hello .
I have a question if the Synchro Hubs from a Sierra Type 3 Gearbox will fit straight into a 2000E Gearbox
The Gearbox has the late type main Shaft without 1th Gear Sleeve .
Got a Hand on N.O.S Sierra Synchro Hubs and late Type Synchro Rings and the intention of rebuilding a Semi Close 2000E

Thank you and Greetings from Luxembourg

Roger

Hi Roger,
I believe the 4 speed 1600 Sierra box uses the same hubs as Mk 3/4/5 Cortina boxes, so should be the same. However, it’s probably going to be cheaper to buy a standard ratio type 3 box second hand which should provide all the hubs and baulkrings you need. Cars with standard ratio boxes are less likely to be abused, so will most likely be in serviceable condition. I also think Burton Power sell new hubs and baulkrings for the type 3/late three rail gearboxes, so they’re worth a try.
Good luck,
Scott

Thank you Scott . The gearbox i have is 2000E with useable Gearset but sloppy Synchro Hubs , the Hub Rings are worn out and give much play on the Gear Dogs , and 1/2 with to much Gear Endflot on the Shaft (0.35mm) . I know Burton is selling new Hubs but i wish to go the N.O.S Part Route . Have already purchased a Type 3 Gearbox Sierra - German Taunus 3/4 Synchro Hub NOS complete with Lockers and Springs (100€ :D ) and will mount it tomorrow . Only have to use late Type Synchro Rings with the late Type Hubs .From apearance and first sight the Hub is the same as withdrawn from the 2000E .
For the 1/2 Hub i will also try out with a Sierra /Taunus part , if i found a NOS Part , otherwise Money Time for Burton Parts . Greetings .... Roger
