Are there any good unrestored cars out there?

Its very nice to see gleeming cars at the shows , but I do prefer to see unrestored cars in any condition. If all the cars were to get restored then over time how would be know what was correct when the cars left the factory?

So apart from the Train Robber MK1 , who out there has nice unrestored cars (MK1 , 11 , Crayford)

Could you post up some pic's for us to see?

i second that, its good to see cars that are standard with an origional coat of paint with rust and warts an all. most cars in that cond get sold on and restored. american lotus cortinas seem to be more origional than ones over here.as they are not thought of so highly

This is my early series 1 GT. Four years ago it was on the raod and looking smart. I then did a basic strip, had some welding done and then realised how much a proper resto' was going to cost me. It's sat in a garage for the last 2 years. I've decided to get it back on the road in 2008 with a respray but without the full underbody strip and restore job. It's completely standard apart from a Vulcan engine upgrade.

My MkI was last worked on seriously in the 60´s (crasch reapirs). I have no plan of a full rebuild, but since it has been off the road for a long time it needs work in all ends. But full rebuild, no, I will try to avoid that.

What a beauty! How many like that can be around...? Not many I think. I bought a MkII ex works car a couple of years ago, it was unresotored and not to bad. Sold it on and it is now fully rebuilt.

I have a genuine grp N Sierra Cosworth, think I will put that one in the barn for 30 years... nobody wants it now (except me).

The definition of unrestored is a bit tricky, as different people define it differently. My car had a repaint in 1981, and has had the front suspension completely redone. Is it still "unrestored"? All original paint on the underside, original interior (except dash pad and carpet) and no rust;

This is a RHD Airflow A-bracket car sold new in California.

I have a early 2 door Mk1 (Not a Lotus unfortunately) still in absolute original condition even wearing original paint. Silly low miles. With a good polish and wax it would look very presentable. Its a shame to rip it apart but I need that rust free shell?

I've split this thread, because it was getting a bit Hijacked away from Steve's original post.
The new thread is titled...Lost identity.
