KUU333D For Sale at Barons Auction 07/09

I have recently seen this car (met the current owner in May) and would be able to shed some light to any potential buyers. Please email me.

Hi Andy,
I seem to remember speaking to this guy a couple of years ago and him telling me that he was taking KUU back to Aus or NZ with him, when his work contract fizzled out. Has he changed his plans?
Scott

Hi Scott,
The guy who owns her lives in Norfolk and i believe he purchased the car 1-2 years ago. It maybe a different owner you spoke to, this guy runs a business there. He told me what he paid for he car so if the lower limit auction price is realised then he could treat himself to a nice MK2 with the profits! Just to add, i was amazed to see the car up for sale having spoken to him (he sold a lotus carlton to move onto an older classic) and note the car has been kept outside for this period of ownership albeit under cover.

Andy

Hi Andy,
I think you're right. The guy I spoke to was an Aussie, but living and working in Lincolnshire and due to travel home (with KUU he said) after a few months. He'd bought KUU from a guy I know in Molesey and paid very cheap money for it, considering it's stunning condition.

George, what's all this about a broken exhaust? Have you sneaked down for a wee test drive?
Scott

No Scott, haven’t been on a road trip for a while- was just thinking about a picture of KUU in the book , Classic and Sports Car Ford File, published 20 odd years ago with the exhaust hanging down under the car :D can’t believe that books so old!

This car was sold today but Baron's won't disclose any details about the price until their website is updated tomorrow. Did anyone go to the auction?

By my calculations, with a 10% buyers premium, total selling price was a shade under £40,000. Quite impressive.

From the pictures, it looked as if the engine bay needed a bit of tidying and those red carpets obviously needed to go but what else was wrong with it?

From looking around it today and through its history file, i would say it just didnt seem to have been loved these last few years.

In comparison to the C reg 65 LC A Frame Barons sold last September ( which had been restored ) for £36850 Inc of premium - last years buyer got more of a bargain.

But then i was standing a few feet away ( unknowly to begin with ) from the buyer and although innitially he seemed stunned to have paid that much for it when the hammer went down, he walked to the payment desk with a smile on his face.

I remember Steve Saville owning this car when the Essex/ E London meet was in Aveley (anyone else?).
I wonder what he sold it for and when!?
