Paint codes for Ermine White and Citroen Sherwood Green

This is an extract from our old site; but not cellulose :-
I thought that it would be useful for other members to share my recent experience with 'The Lotus Green'.
After reading past debate on the forum i thought i would investigate this for myself as i needed an aerosol to paint up a petrol cap. My local paint shop (Autopaints in Lewes East Sussex 01273 478111 ask for Fred) were given the challenge and with some help came up the the ICI code for Citroen Sherwood Forest Green,ICI 3386. The 2-pack formula is as follows 905 42.6,948 48.0, 954 49.5, 900 58.8, and 376 104.3.

As a follow up to a well old question (problem even?) for those who would prefer cellulose
"Autopaints Brighton" have Ermine white & Sherwood green etc cellulose paint and a special High Gloss thinners to match.
Just last week I repainted my car. Spot on, It even smells right .
Especially after the profesional tosser I paid to do it last year using 2 pak ......!
They also have satin matt black etc
5 Ltrs White £129. Code is P420-3397
5 Ltrs Thinners £16
1 Ltr Satin black £16
1 Ltr Sherwood £26
+ VictimisAtion Tax
Total £228.72 Not bad.

Hi, after owning my MK1 LC for twenty years CEN 594C I am hoping to reassemble it in 2022. I had it painted in 2019 except for the stripe, the green stripe is going on in the new year. The question I have is the point of the green stripe on the front wing is it safe to say it is 2 3/8" from the headlight bucket ?

" 2 3/8th's isn't enough. You see so many cars now with the stripe finishing far to close to the headlight rim. Mine is 3", that's how I always remember it being.
There is a very good original press release/advert picture showing the stripe very clearly. I shall now try to copy it onto here. If I fail I'm sure Keith Halstead or one of our resident experts will step up to oblige.
Good luck with the rebuild. Hope ypu have as much fun as I did.

I've managed to find a picture of my car taken in 1970 that I'm attaching to this post. It's not great quality but what it shows is that the distance from headlamp bezel to the point of the green stripe is clearly the same if not slightly greater than the length of the rectangular wing badge. The wing badges measure 3", it's the same for all three cars.
My car is on the right (that's me sitting on the offside wing with my brother). The other two belonged to good mates of mine. You'll have to take my word for it that my car and LMM next to it had their original wings & paint work at the time. I notice that the car on the left is missing it's wing badge so that could mean that the wing had been replaced at some point but the stripe finishes in the correct place.
Whilst I'm at it please notice that all front bumper irons are white.
I hope Dave will keep us all posted with his progress.

I wonder if there was a difference in the position of the point of the stripe between early and late cars ?

Yes Dave, they are white. Rear bumper irons are black.
Hello Pete. I would plump for all stripes being the same. There are plenty of pictures of early Team Lotus race cars floating about for reference. Hope we can meet up at Saffron Walden this year.
