Hi all,

I'd like to know color of original wingard plastic rearview mirror for Lotus Cortina MK1.
Which one is original?
1, White painted mirror head and stem? The white color same as Ermine White?
2, White plastic(not painted) mirror head and white painted stem?
3, Grey plastic mirror head and Grey painted stem?

My original one is looks IVORY mirror head and light Grey painted stem.
But the mirror head were fading and deteriorating. It's Grey plastic mirror head were fading to IVORY?
Because I can find Grey plastic section on the mirror head.

Please tell me about your wingard plastic rearview mirror for Lotus Cortina MK1.

Thank you.

My July 64 had option 2. The painted stem does look ivory now but its just changed colour with age. The original paint on the inside of base of the stem where is bolts to the roof and hence not exposed to light is bright white , not Ermine / Ivory.

Hi Steve,
Thank you for the information.
I attached the picture about my wingerd rearview mirrors.

The left one is my original plastic one, you can see original plastic grey color.
How about yours? not grey?
The middle one is my stock parts, the original paint looks like bright white. same as yours?
The right one is original steel one for early car, It's not white, painted light grey.
Why not white? Maybe plastic one must be same color?
I'm confused. more input would be appreciate.
Thank you.

Early pre airflow cars had the metal type mirror head and stem painted grey. Then changed to the small WHITE plastic mirror head (63 x 150mm) with WHITE stem for the remainder.

Thank you for the information, Steve and Dave.
It must be white.
The parts book mention 113E-17700-C?Mirror(rear view interior) and bracket assy-white.
For early pre airflow cars one, 113E-17700 However it does not mention the color. But it's definitely metal one and grey.
Thank you.
