Hi
I’m looking for help and guidance re my gearbox

I think it’s a 2000e box, the tag says 2820ed 6009?

Its jumping out of 3rd on the over run and I may need to replace the gear, its got 23 teeth, has anyone any idea where I could get one, Burton power don’t do it

The gear looks to be very good and it engages perfectly when the box is operated out of the car, moving the rails by hand

Before I strip the box I think there may be a slight chance that the remote gear change is faulty/worn and that 3rd is not being engaged fully

Has any one had a similar problem with 3rd or any other gear and did q worn remote turn out to be the problem

If it is the remote are repair kits available

Thanks

Refurb kits for the remote are available from the MkI owners club, but that won't solve jumping out of gear

Come in Scott !

Usually a worn selector fork in the gearbox, causing the gear not not be fully engaged and jump out. Very common on these old ford gearboxes. Contact Scott "L.C.R Resident Gearbox Expert", for further advice.
