Excellent work Colin. I would never have guessed the back end was as rotten as that when I saw it at the National. Coming together nicely now.

It's amazing what the sandblaster reveals Iv got about 5 or 6 days welding left then start on the paintwork .

I guess you don´t need the roof you wanted from me anymore?

Thought this might interest you

From this to this but its not paint

We have a machine at work for metalising its manyly for the metal work like posts that go under ground before we powder coat them it sprayes heated up metal zink copper or ali this is the unit,

the big bines are full of wire,

its melts the wire at a stupid temp then you spray in on a clean sandblasted object ,

when its done it looks like this a bit flat

you then go over it with a wire brush

until it looks like this

iv also done my gearbox parts i know its not the same as having the real thing but im sure you agree its not far off

iv also done lots to the car but i think the pictures might bore you,
the engine not sure about the green but from looking at pictures of the rally cars tell me that you think

rear axle with the works tube on it

il post some pictures of the bodywork another time im so slow on this

That's a terrific finish on those castings - Alchemy I think they call it!

You would never know unless you dismantled the car & weighed them.

Car's coming on in leaps & bounds - will look even better once the primer's on! Keep it going Colin.

PS. Prefer the SE green to that one.

Wow, great, got the alu looks but the strenght of steel!

The extra tube on the rearaxle, is that from a Sierra rear crossmember?

Hi Bertil no I made it when I restored Dons car 25 VUR he wanted a works tube on his so I made a couple of them .

You'll never bore us with pictures like these Colin. It all looks great to me! Good luck with the rest of the restoration.

Simon

Hi Colin,

I think your machine to turn the Diffs and Gearbox parts into "Ali" lookalikes is first class. Much better than the Airfix Silver everybody uses to disguise their Cast Metal parts. Especially as you need about 20 small pots to do one diff!! Lol
I will be sending my Gearbox Bell housing to you pretty soon!

Any idea how much for individual items as well as a complete set of Gearbox and Diff bits.
That is if you are advertising your services of course???

Regards

Andy M

PS Good luck with it hope you get some keen interest and orders from the members!

Ear Colin,

Are you still interested in a pair of Aluminium bell housings by the way? forgot to mention when I last spoke to you!!

let me know

cheers

Brendan
